STARTING THE BER MONTHS WITH A BANG: TEAM VCS RECAPS SEPTEMBER ACHIEVEMENTS
Last October 5, Team VCS gathered together for a productive team huddle. This strategic meeting aimed to reinforce our overarching objectives and prepare us for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead in the final quarter of the year.
The virtual gathering enabled us to bring our collective wisdom and experiences to the table. With the last quarter of 2023 looming, this huddle was a crucial milestone in ensuring our alignment with the company’s long-term vision and immediate priorities. It also enabled us to brainstorm improved ways and strategies, making sure that our projects are top-notch.
A fruitful September
September was a good month for Team VCS, as we were able to close projects and collaborate with companies from different industries. During the huddle, each department shared their accomplishments, outlined their strategies for the fourth quarter, and pinpointed valuable lessons for improvement:
Finance and HR Head TJ Joson shared the achievements of her department. They successfully finished the onboarding of the new hires and welcomed a new intern, Max Mañago, who was placed under the Creative Department. Furthermore, TJ provided updates on collection setbacks. Timely client collections hold great significance at VCS, and thus, we closely monitor them. We also value reviewing contracts and agreement revisions for each project.
Chief Creative Officer Amrei Dizon led the discussion on the accomplishments of the Business Development team. The company's finances are in good shape, and the year-to-date sales in 2023 surpassed the year-to-date sales for September 2022. She announced that repeat clients are important to VCS because they serve as a testament that we provide good customer service. These clients also show that our company systems are orderly and ensure that campaigns are effective and delivered on time.
Account Director Vans Jalandoni delved into the specifics. She also underscored how we maintain our efficiency by implementing data optimization strategies. These help to streamline and automate our project management.
Creative Director Jan Agulto proudly shared that the majority of their department’s projects for September were collateral and social media projects. He also emphasized that the Creatives team reduced their errors in their design projects, allowing them to submit flawless outputs to clients. Effective quality control monitoring is a crucial element for enhancing our team's efficiency. In addition, they are also studying how they can incorporate new AI tools into their designs.
Multimedia Specialist Nico Nunag discussed that, similar to the Creatives team, the Production Department is also currently experimenting with different AI tools to contribute to the agency’s growth. He also said that their finished September projects mostly consisted of GIFs, motion graphics, and layout projects.
Strat and Copy Director Kat Torrefranca expressed that they accomplished two brand audits and four proposals for various projects. The brand audits they created are for a Canadian client who is a leading manufacturer of beauty products worldwide. Working with a client from another industry allowed the team to experiment with their approach to campaigns. In terms of developments, her department devised more effective content strategy processes to streamline the creation of various content.
Digital Content and PR Specialist Catherine Espejo shared the wins of the Digital PR Department. She reported an increase in the reach and engagements across VCS’ social media platforms, particularly on Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok. For the past few weeks, VCS has produced valuable reels across various topics, especially automation and design.
The holiday season isn’t the only thing we are excitedly preparing for. We’re also getting ready for our projects in the upcoming months, and the insights we've gained from both our achievements and mistakes last September have bolstered our readiness.
3Cs Fostered by Team Huddles
At VCS, we regularly conduct team huddles because it cultivates the 3Cs of our team—conflict resolution, collaboration, and change adaptability.
Collaboration. Huddles promote collaboration among team members. When we come together to discuss our work, we share ideas, provide input, and brainstorm solutions to our problems. This collaborative environment leads to more innovative and effective solutions to our projects.
Conflict Resolution. Conflicts are natural in any team, and the ability to address and resolve conflicts constructively is essential. In our team, we make sure that we’re comfortable discussing our differences and working towards mutually agreeable solutions.
Change Adaptability. In today's dynamic business environment, teams must be adaptable to change. We encourage everyone to embrace change and be open to learning and evolving. Our team is consistently prepared to embrace and stay current with the latest digitalization tools to meet the needs of our esteemed clients.
For VCS, huddles encourage open dialogue, resolve conflicts, and cultivate adaptability. These enable us to celebrate our past achievements and build a strong foundation for tackling whatever lies ahead. In addition, this proactive approach has not only reinforced our team's cohesion but also equipped us to face advertising’s ever-evolving landscape with confidence. More importantly, this team huddle demonstrates our dedication to driving VCS forward through continuous improvement.
Since we’re talking about the arrival of the Ber months, let’s revisit the key moments from our 2018 3Q Townhall.
