51 DAYS THAT MADE A DIFFERENCE: AIRAM DINATE’S VCS INTERNSHIP
Fifty-one days filled with creativity, learning, and growth — that’s how Airam Dinate describes her internship at VCS. Her journey was packed with new experiences, invaluable lessons, and personal wins. Let’s take a closer look at what she learned along the way.
1. The Value of a Welcoming Environment
From day one, Airam felt the warm and supportive culture at VCS. “I felt so happy logging in to my first-ever internship,” she shares. The orientation led by Finance and HR Director, Teejai Joson, introduced her to the company’s values and systems, setting the tone for a positive experience. “I admired how organized and collaborative VCS was, it’s the perfect place to grow.”
2. Writing as a Craft and Profession
Being part of the Strategy and Copy Department was a dream come true for Airam. As an aspiring writer, she relished every opportunity to hone her skills in crafting creative content. She credits her mentor, Associate Creative Director for Copy Kat Torrefranca, for guiding her with constructive feedback and consistent support. “Her feedback helped me improve my skills and gave me confidence to take on new challenges,” she recalls.
3. Teamwork and Big Celebrations
One of Airam’s proudest moments was contributing to VCS’s 20th-anniversary celebration. She brainstormed and wrote theme ideas that captured the agency’s values and history. “Seeing my ideas come to life was a big win,” she says. Attending the celebration itself was also a highlight that gave her a chance to meet the team and feel truly part of the milestone.
4. Understanding Inclusivity Through Projects
Airam worked on “Our World Through Art,” an advocacy project that deepened her understanding of the disability spectrum and the power of inclusivity. Tasks like transcribing interviews and drafting articles gave her fresh insights into meaningful communication: “I’m proud that the phrase ‘Inclusivity Makes Impact’ became part of the official title. This project taught me so much about the importance of inclusive storytelling.”
5. Managing Big Client Projects
During her internship, Airam contributed to major projects for clients. From plotting social media calendars to creating content, every task helped her build real-world marketing skills. “Working on the Noceda Jacobina account stood out. I learned how to use Meta Business Suite, create recommendation decks, and analyze content performance. It was both challenging and rewarding,” she shares.
6. Gaining On-Site Experience
Although her role was primarily remote, Airam cherished her visits to the VCS office. One of her favorite experiences was joining the BPI photoshoot. She had the opportunity to document behind-the-scenes moments, which gave her a closer look at how ideas come to life: “I loved capturing candid shots and being part of the shoot. It was exciting to see the creative process in action.”
7. Embracing Opportunities to Learn
VCS provided Airam with countless learning opportunities, from attending client presentations to participating in knowledge-sharing sessions. “Every experience, big or small, contributed to my personal and professional growth,” she says. She gained new skills from understanding inbound marketing to drafting compelling email copies.
A Journey of Growth and Gratitude
Airam’s internship at VCS provided her with a stepping stone in her creative journey. She leaves with gratitude for the supportive team, the exciting projects, and the lessons that have prepared her for future challenges.
“VCS is so generous in creating spaces for growth,” she reflects. Her journey shows how great mentors, teamwork, and a supportive environment can shape someone into a future creative professional.
